Disabling the option restores the timings to default at 2T. When the option is enabled, Geardown Mode configures the timings to 16-16-16-36 timings at 1T. If your memory kit has an odd CAS Latency (CL) value, Geardown Mode basically rounds it up to the nearest even number and sets the command rate (CR) to 1T. Geardown Mode (GDM) is enabled on AMD motherboards whenever the memory runs above the DDR4-2666 standard.
